Human Propulsion Units: The FlyBoard

Franky Zapata, Personal Watercraft guru and founder of Zapata Racing, has come up with a way to combine a number of his personal passions into one heck of an idea, concept, and now invention - The FlyBoard.

Using the power of the jet propulsion unit found in any typical personal watercraft, one can connect Zapata's contraption to it and fly like superman through the air, then plunge into, and through the water like a dolphin at high speed, and then breach the water into the air to once again take on flight up to 30 feet in the air.

Forward movement speeds through the air seem significant 20, 30 maybe 40 or 50 miles per hour in burst look possible. Airborne flips, spirals and sailor-dive submarine manuvuers are shown in the below promo video shot by the newly formed FlyBoard Company, official distributor of Zapata's invention.

This video speaks for itself, and although it is not the newest of stories, it remains one of the most notable and inspiring to those of us who want to do what you are about to witness. Personally, I am already building a mental list of low hanging fruit regarding obvious enhancements and incredible potential for this device as a personal recreation device, movie prop, or even military application. Way to go Franky!

LeapFrog - A collective of ideas, concepts, events, and inventions that are seemingly way ahead of their time.

This Blog was created to be an archive of web content I have found to be compelling enough to want to share it others. I will include here content that stimulates the thought process and focuses on ideas that do not follow current trends or obvious next steps in progression, but rather take a leapfrog approach and get right to the point.

Please add this Blog to your RSS Feeds or Favorites and leave comments on what you see here. The idea is to create a theraputic thinking lab of sorts that fosters a dialog among deep thinkers and those who have an unquechable thirst for progress. The book Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins makes reference to these people as 2%'ers (two Percent-ers).

I remember reading this reference to the 2%'ers twenty-some-odd years ago when I made my first of over a dozen readings of the book by Robbins. Understastanding the existence of the "two groups" was enlightening to me and changed my life. Understanding the concept outlined by Robbins allowed me to move forward in my exploration of all things that interested me and stop wondering why others did not care or where not interested in the things that totally amazed me.

It's been a while scince I have read that great book by Robbins, but the quote went something like this: "98% of all people walk around the earth in total oblivion, leading lives of short-comings and mediocrity. Some people, the other 2%, walk around in a constant state of abundant and endless amazement about everything."

I have found that being a part of the 2% group can be as much of a burden as it can be a gateway to serenity. Here, I will share some thoughts of the obviously very serene individuals. I hope it helps us all to leapfrog the many logical steps it takes to bring the ideas within us to fruition.

Ideas brought to fruition quickly allow for other ideas in the backlog or the new ideas that spawn from current efforts to be put on the workbench quicker and in a more efficient manner. The most progress, in the most efficient manner, is often the most comfortable manner in which we operate as humans living in the 2 percentile of creative thought.

If anything within these pages rings true for you, or you have a suggested peice of content to post, please comment or contact me directly. Thank you for reading. SJH
